What is gift claiming?
When you see someone else's wish and want to buy it for them, you can claim it. This lets others know you're handling this gift – so no one buys the same thing twice.
How does it work?
Claiming works simply:
- Browse wishes of other members
- Click on the wish you want to buy
- Press the claim button
- The gift is now reserved for you
The Magic of Claiming
The gift recipient never sees whether their wish was claimed or by whom. For them, the list looks the same. Other members, however, can see that the wish is claimed – and in some modes, by whom.
✨ The surprise stays a surprise, but no one buys a duplicate gift.
Claiming by List Mode
How claiming works depends on the list mode:
Open
Open – claims are anonymous, no one sees who claimed
Tracked
Tracked – other members see who claimed, recipient doesn't
Protected
Protected – same as tracked, but requires login
Cancelling a Claim
If you change your mind, you can cancel your claim at any time. The gift becomes available again for someone else to claim.
💡 You can only cancel claims on gifts you claimed yourself.
